It’s our special ‘birth-day’ My twin brother and I. It’s a mixed feeling really.
——
A day you are supposed to be celebrating your birthday with your twin brother has turned into a day you will forever remember the going to heaven of our
“fantaglamorious”queen sister Revd Mrs Folu Komolafe.
I remember it vividly! It was the night of June 29 2017 here in Sydney! As I was going to bed, it must have been around 11pm. I got a call from my brother who lives in Manchester. He called to wish me a “happy birthday”. He told me he was in Nigeria and was heading to the airport, on his way back to Manchester and he wanted to make sure he gave me a quick ‘happy birthday’ call.
I was so glad that he had taken time out of his full-on busy schedule to call me.
It wasn’t quite an hour after his call that another call came in. This time, It was from my big brother. He sounded very concerned and asked for urgent prayers for my sister-in-law in Manchester.
Now, this was the wife of my brother who had called an hour prior to that time.
Hubby and I prayed and went to sleep. It was later confirmed, when we woke up that my sis in law Revd Folu Komolafe, had gone to heaven.
So today my emotions are kinda mixed.
However, when I think deeply about it all, I’m still full of gratitude. It’s still a day of joy. I’m also reminded that my time to go to heaven will come too. As the old sage in Ecclesiastes said “A time to be born and a time to die..” (Ecclesiastes 3:2)
Anyways, since heaven is a great place and since I’ll be reunited with my sister-in-law one day, I don’t need to and I won’t sorrow today.
I will still rejoice and show my gratitude to God for the gift of another year. So thank U Lord! U are awesome!
“So teach us to number our days Lord so we can apply our hearts to wisdom”. (Psalm 90:12)
«When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be.
When we all see Jesus we’ll sing and shout the victory »
